Well, we finally decided to go ahead with the surgery for Bullet's leg! It was the first time this surgery has ever been performed in our hospital!! Guess what Bulldog has just IS that rare. He was born with a defect with the growth plate on his right arm. It is is stunting the growth of the ulna, while the radius bone is growing, causing his leg to bow.
This is a dorky picture of him, but you can see the right leg curved quite a bit. So you can see the short ulna bone on the inside, long radius curved on the outside.
Here is B-dog just after the surgery on Friday, leg all wrapped up already.
Sad B-dog watching Tyke play without him at the park :(

But, it's okay, he doesn't need to run. Daddy helps Bulldog chase the ducks anyway, haha.

The surgery was really neat to watch. They actually had to cut the ulna bone, separate it to leave a small gap (for the bone to grow a bit, then reattach itself), and hold it in place with a pin. Now, per Doctors orders, Bullet has to keep his leg rested so it can heal for at least a few weeks.

So, now it's just a waiting game for us. Since it's a pretty risky surgery, we won't know if it actually worked for a few weeks. But he does seem to be doing fine with the bum leg. Definitely milking up the special treatment he is getting.
